On Journal Prompts.

Sometimes it’s hard to find something to write about. Actually it’s a lot harder for me than it used to be (but perhaps it’s always been this way and I was just in denial about it.) Something I like to do is go on Pinterest and look up “Journal prompts,” because sometimes I just need a helping hand. Some of the questions are interesting, but I’ve quickly found that journal prompts are repetitive and even the same question from post to post.

What three things did you like about today.

What do you wish to accomplish in the upcoming week.

How has your day been going and what will you do to fix it.

If you could live on a deserted island, what items, people, music, etc would you bring?

The list goes on.

And on.

It’s nice to have some prompts to keep one going in the writing world, but must we re-hash the same questions over and over? It’s so redundant. My mood fluctuates through out the day, I don’t want to write about it currently. And I want to accomplish completing my work schedule and relaxing with a book or YouTube at the end of the day. I’m a simple creature.

Maybe I just need to find my prompts elsewhere. I wish WordPress continued their daily prompts. Those were fun.
