Day 1 of 2020.
January 1, 2020.
I never made a big day out of it before, but now it seems really special to me. The first day of a new year. One year of our anniversary. I can’t believe we’ve been together for a whole year now. I feel like we just started. Every day is a brand new day for us and I’m so excited to see what each day brings.
I didn’t make any resolutions (yet.) I’ll probably by the end of the day. Or the end of the week.
Something like that.
I’ll have to go onto Goodreads and put in how many books I’d like to read by the end of 2020. For 2019 I initially said 50 books, but I only got to 24 by the end of December so I changed it to 22 so I could say I accomplished something. Is it bad that I changed my number of books read at the last minute?
Some years I do better at reading than others. I looked at past reading challenges. Some years I read 60 out of 50 and 50 out of 50. And others I just read 38 out of 50 and 20 out of 50. I guess it depends on how much I’m wanting to read. Though I suspect the time I read close to 60 was due to the fact I read a bunch of picture books to make it count. (Somehow I feel like that’s cheating but others say no.)
I’m not sure how I’ll spend the day. We were thinking about hiking. That would be a great anniversary date. Or the movies. We’ll see.
The new year is at our feet and I’m excited to see what the year has in store for my fiancé and I.
