Saying Yes to the Dress is Hard.

Yesterday afternoon, I went to David’s Bridal to look at wedding dresses. This is only the second time that I went out to look at dresses there in person. My mom went with me. I tried on at least a dozen dresses or more. I even tried on a dress that reminded me of Meghan Markle’s dress that she wore when she married Prince Harry. (It didn’t look as good on me as it did her. Celebrities, man.)

I had thought I wanted a dress that had lace sleeves on it, just because it looked traditional and lovely. There was a couple dresses I tried on that I liked but my mom didn’t. There was even a simple dress that I tried on with no sleeves, just straps. The design was nice but it just didn’t call out to me.

I found The One about 30/40 minutes into my dress trying. It was the third to last one. I put it on and I just knew it had to be it. Even my mom liked this one, which was amazing because at that point, we would like opposite dresses. I would like one, but she wouldn’t and vice versa. So I was relieved when we found this one. I tried on two more but it just wasn’t it. I wanted The One.

So that was that. I said yes, they got a seamstress in to tuck to mark it to fix it up. I’ll have it fitted in a couple weeks to see how it fits. I’m so excited now to have my dress. That had been weighing on my mind and it made me grumpy and fight with family members and my fiancé. Things are finally coming together and now I’m excited for our wedding to get here.

On top of that, it’s Valentine’s Day today! We’re going out to dinner after work and tomorrow we’re going to look at our house that we’re buying and then have a little mini get away to a cabin in the middle of nowhere. I’m excited to spend some time with the love of my life. I’m sure he thinks I’m just stunning, just as much as I adore him.
