The Call of the Wild is coming out Thursday night. I’m going to see it Saturday evening with my fiancé. We’re excited to see it because it’s a survival/dog story set in Alaska, and that’s where we’re going to visit in the future.
Because I haven’t read the book yet, I started reading it yesterday. I’m a little over halfway done and I’m already enjoying it. Buck is a St. Bernard mix who is stolen from his home in California and sent up north to become part of a dog sled team to the Klondike. It’s not happy, the things that Buck has to endure. I want to know which character Harrison Ford plays, as none of the male characters I’ve met so far are very nice. A couple of them are kind as people can be in the wilds, but still rough men. I’m interested in seeing how it all plays out.
When I finish the book and see the movie, I’ll have to make a comparison and see how well the movie interpretation pans out.
As of right now, I’m enjoying the book. It’s not like White Fang, but it’s good enough, I think. I’m pleased to see a surge of interest for dog and survival novels, because those are the types of books I love reading.
Are you looking foreword to any movies coming out?
