How am I feeling about everything that is happening in the world?
I feel a mixture of emotions on a daily basis. I feel normal, I go about my daily homebody routines:
- Get up,
- Write in my journal
- Get cleaned up (brush teeth, put clothes on, wash face, etc)
- Play The Sims (a recent development–I haven’t played for years and now I’m obsessed with it again)
- Spend time with my fiancé and mom
You know, the usual. If it’s nice out, I got outside and work on the vegetable garden. Or walk around the backyard.
At the same time, though, I find that everything can be a bit horrifying. Italy has been hit really hard with this coronavirus and many, many have died in the process for the sheer fact that there’s too many who are ill and not enough medicine to take care of them. America is starting to get that bad, not only with the illness but with people panic buying food, masks, gloves, and toilet paper among many things. If I linger on that for a long time, I can feel myself getting anxious and worried for my family.
But we can’t be that way, feeling panicky and anxious. Like so many others have said, this is the time to focus on what matters. Read those books you’ve always meant to read, spend time with your family, watch movies and shows you’ve always wanted to watch. If we panic, then we’re only doing more harm to ourselves than others.
