The water felt good, as it was one of the hottest days this weekend. The water was very green and felt cleaner than another lake that we went to with the dog. You could actually see a little ways down while you were in the lake, which was nice.
We swam around the entire lake a couple of times and even jumped off the dock. There were a couple floating docks and a big air slide, as well, but one wasn’t allowed on there unless one had a life vest on and we didn’t want to spend the extra money to rent one for the day. We decided if we went back again, we’d bring our own life vests.
As for the campground itself, the place wasn’t much to speak of. The spaces for the RV campground was so close together that it wasn’t much of a campground at all, more like a trailer park. The tent camping looked nice, but it was also expensive, more than it did in other places that we’ve been too.
There was an arcade place, but it was hot and muggy in there and the games looked like they came from the 70’s or 80’s. It’s definitely not something either one of us would have gone out of our way to go to. At least we spent a day there swimming, just to see what it was like. It would have been even better if our dog could have come out with us. There was plenty of grass for him to be staked out on and watch us.
Overall, it was a new experience. I enjoyed swimming, but not sure if it’s something to do again any time soon. Maybe we’ll go camping for a couple nights just to say we did it, but maybe nothing more.
What did you guys do over the weekend?
