Daily Gratitude: Advice

Suzie over at Suzie Speaks is doing a daily gratitude journal prompt for the month of July. Instead of doing today’s prompt, I’m going to go back to one of the prompts that I missed and write on that.

The prompt was from day 4 which asks “what is the greatest advice you’ve ever been given?”

I don’t usually listen to advice, because usually advice is given when unasked for and often very annoying. However, I remember this one time I went to visit my media instructor during class once the semester. He asked me about my life plans and then he said: “Ashley, don’t ever leave school. Keep studying and learning, avoid real life for as long as possible.”

Over the years, I found that to be true. Real life can be rough and more than a little confusing. Instead when you’re studying, you can insulate yourself so that you can grow and formulate your thoughts without the rest of the world beating down on you. I hope to go back to school again, be in that environment again and experience it once more. Who knows when it will happen, but I’m still holding out for it.
