Mornings.

Mornings have an aura of sacredness.

They have a gentle quietness, a cocoon of peacefulness that can’t be found at any other part of the day. It’s the time of day where I can focus the most.

The last few mornings I’ve been especially enjoying my time. I’ve been reading my religious book of choice for a short time, taking my dog for a walk, and getting some things done. I feel revitalized, energized, and hopeful.

I think a lot of it has to do with having a routine. My dog expects to have breakfast by 8 a.m. He wants love, exercise, and attention. I have another animal as well that I need to go out and check on and take care of. Animals don’t understand that you’re tired from lack of sleep. They don’t care if you don’t feel like getting up that day. They want (and need) to be taken care of.

I’ve also been trying to write every day and I don’t want to spend the day tapping my finger against the desk wondering what to do (even though a lot of times, especially past couple days is what I do.)

Having a set schedule gets me going and having things to do in the morning gets me inspired for the rest of the day (usually.) I want to take advantage of that. I hope it continues.

What part of the day do you enjoy the most?
