Do you participate in reading challenges? Why or why not?
I used to be more interested in reading challenges when I first started Goodreads, but not so much anymore. These days, I just make a goal to read a certain number of books each year and not participate in the other complex challenges (seasonal reading challenge on Goodreads comes to mind.) Once I have tasks to complete and trying to find books to complete each task, I don’t want to read the books I pick out. It’s like school books, you don’t want to read them once you *have* to read them. I’d rather just pick out a book and read as I go just because I want to read it and not because I want to. Even reading so many books a year is pushing it. I wish I could participate in more challenges, but I don’t. Maybe I’m just lazy and don’t want to participate in it. Who knows.
